Located just a mile outside of Darlington in a peaceful countryside setting, we provide a safe, fun, and engaging space where your dog can socialize, play, and relax while you’re away.
Our brand-new, purpose-built facility features over three acres of secure outdoor space, including large exercise fields and an all-weather area—perfect for dogs to run and play safely. Inside, our heated, naturally lit buildings are divided into daycare suites, ensuring small group care, plenty of enrichment activities, and cozy spots for your dog to rest and recharge.
At The Dog Barn, our experienced and dog-loving staff treat every dog like family, providing them with the attention and care they need for a happy, stimulating day. Whether your dog needs a day full of socialization, exercise, or relaxation, we're here to give them their best day.

The Journey
The Dog Barn Darlington has come a long way. Our journey began with the complete renovation of a derelict, overgrown, and abandoned site, which once housed a dog boarding facility. We saw the potential to create something truly special for the dogs and dog lovers of Darlington and the surrounding areas. Our vision was clear: to build a high-end doggy day care centre that not only fills a much-needed demand but also provides a wonderful place to work.
We opened our doors in January 2024, and since then, we’ve been committed to offering exceptional care and a welcoming environment. But this is only the beginning! The next phase of our development will focus on expanding our services and building strong relationships with both new and existing customers. As we grow, we’re excited about creating more great jobs and continuously improving the experience for our furry guests and their owners.

Matt
Matt had the vision for The Dog Barn and has driven the business to where it is today. His passion for creating a high-quality, dog-friendly facility was the driving force behind transforming the abandoned site into the thriving doggy day care it is now. Always looking to the future, Matt is eager to expand our services and facilities in response to customer demand.

Devon
Devon was the very first employee at The Dog Barn, joining us before the doors even opened! With a wealth of experience and qualifications in dog care, she’s been an integral part of the team from the start. Devon’s talents extend beyond dog care - she proved her skills in construction by laying concrete and painting during the renovation.
Today, Devon leads our team, helping to create the culture that makes The Dog Barn a fantastic place for staff, dogs, and customers alike.
Romy
Romy joined us in early 2024 and has embraced her role with enthusiasm. The dogs adore her, and she holds certifications in canine first aid, and is working towards her Level 4 in Dog Daycare Management. Romy’s energy and commitment to providing the best care make her an invaluable part of the team.
Louise
Louise started with us in the spring of 2024 and quickly became a key asset to the team. Cheerful, professional, and known for her high standards, Louise is a natural with dogs and is loved by both our furry guests and their owners. Her friendly attitude and keen attention to detail ensure that every dog is well-cared for throughout the day. Louise is also first aid trained, adding an extra layer of confidence to the care she provides.
