Terms & Conditions

The Dog Barn (Darlington) Ltd is registered in England and Wales under company number 14603999. The registered office address is 102 Blackwell Lane, Darlington, England, DL3 8QQ.

We kindly ask that all ‘Paw-rents’ ensure they have read, understood and agree to our terms and conditions. If your dog is booked for day care services at The Dog Barn Darlington, you are deemed to have accepted these terms and conditions. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.

 

Admissions:

  1. Any owner/s of the dog making a booking, must provide their full details (full name, address and contact information, the animal’s full details and emergency contact details). All information will be used and stored in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.
  2. We will not admit any dog into the daycare service without an UP-TO-DATE VETERINARY CERTIFICATE of vaccination. This must be provided upon registration. Should you be unable to produce these documents, we reserve the right to not admit the dog until we receive evidence, they are fully immunised.
  3. We ask that your dog is wearing a collar or harness with a name tag containing your information in accordance with the legal requirements.
  4. Whilst your dog is using The Dog Barn Darlo for daycare, you give permission for staff to socialise your dog/s with other dogs. Dogs in our care will be always supervised, however it must be accepted that there are reasonable risks involved with multiple dogs socialising and/or when using equipment.
  5. We reserve the right to refuse any dog with immediate effect should this be deemed necessary and the best course of action.
  6. Unfortunately, we will not accept any bitches in season for admission to day care in the interests of your own dog & others in our care. We hope you understand.
  7. If your dog has any history of aggression or biting, The Dog Barn Darlo reserves the right to refuse entry to the day care. In addition, if a dog becomes too sick or is considered too elderly, we reserve the same right in the best interests of your dog and others in our care.

Healthcare:

  1. If your dog is unwell or had been unwell in the last 48 hours, please do not bring them.
  2. All dogs must be up to date with flea & worming treatments prior to admission to daycare. Should your dog be found to have worms/ticks or fleas whilst present, we will administer treatment to prevent spread to other dogs in our care. The cost of treatment will be covered by the owner. The Dog Barn Darlo cannot be held responsible if your dog catches fleas/ticks.
  3. If your dog is to fall ill whilst in our care, for any reason, we will always try to contact you first, however, in the event we are unable to get in touch with you, you agree to The Dog Barn Darlo contacting a vet. The correct procedures regarding isolation and barrier nursing will be applied to ensure their own protection and that of other dogs in our care. Our isolation facilities are located off-site with our Vets (Vets4Pets, Grange Road, Darlington).
  4. Should any veterinary treatment be required whilst your dog is in our care, the cost of this is to be met by the owner of the dog and we strongly advise that all dogs are covered by appropriate insurance, just in case. It is our priority to ensure your dog is in good health and receives appropriate care/treatment. We are registered with Vets4Pets, Grange Road, Darlington.
  5. If your dog will require medication whilst in our care, we ask for full details of this ahead of any first admission to ensure that we can store and administer the medication correctly.
  6. You agree to The Dog Barn Darlo contacting any current and/or previous veterinary practices to obtain medical records or medical information that may be needed to ensure appropriate and accurate care or treatment is given, if needed. All information will be used and stored in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.

Payments & Cancellations:

  1. Payment for ‘pay as you go’ must be made on collection of your dog. We accept Credit and Debit Cards.
  2. Any pre-booking blocks must be paid for at the time of booking. We ask that any cancellations are made at least 48 hours beforehand to ensure sufficient notice. Any cancellations made within 48 hours, will not be refunded.

Pick up & Drop Off:

  1. Dogs in our care mut be picked-up and dropped off within the opening hours which are 7:30am until 5.30pm. I understand that a fee of £2 will be applied for every 15minutes which a dog is not collected after closing time.
  2. I agree that if I book for/agree to a half day service but fail to collect my dog by within 5 hours, then a full day rate will apply and will be charged.
  3. If you, the owner, are unable to collect your dog in person and are sending a representative on your behalf, for security purposes and for the protection of your dog, we will ask that you allocate a ‘safe word’ or ‘password’ that you share with us and only individuals that have your permission to collect your dog.

Other bits & bobs:

  1. Whilst your dog is in our care, our staff will no doubt take photographs and videos for social media, advertising and training purposes. If you do not wish for your dog to be used in any social media or advertising, please let us know of this ahead of their first admission.
  2. Each of our day care “suites” is equipped with bunk beds, play items and a quiet corner. Should a dog be keen for some alone-time, or our staff feel that your dog would benefit from a short period of down time we will place them in our quiet corner, which is a comfy crate with blankets and additional toys.
  3. We are not responsible for any damage or loss to any vehicles or property whilst on the premises.
  4. Toys, drinking bowls, blankets etc will be provided by The Dog Barn Darlo whilst your dog is in our care. Should you wish your dog to have their own items with them, that’s perfectly fine. However, we cannot be held responsible for any loss or damage to these things.
